… a thing called laundry basket … and the story of which …
To change the sheets in the puppy box takes 2 to 3 people. Why? Well, you shall soon find out:
The sheets get changed several times a day because the female and her litter leave a stain or two throughout the day. In order to keep the puppies safe, while cleaning up, we put them in a laundry basket with a heated bottle and a few soft towels. In there, it is so soft, warm, and cosy that the puppies keep dreaming away. However, Tara has little appreciation for games like that.   First of all, she does not agree to having her puppies "harvested" like that … and as if that wasn't bad enough, to top it all off, they are being put in this weird container to be placed far away from her (about 80 cm/32 inches next to the puppy box, in the same room). No! That cannot be good! All of her puppies sleeping quietly, not making a sound, is aggravating her to the max.   That's why she starts tapping each and every one with her nose, pushing them around. By her doing that, the puppies too are aggravated now and start making all sorts of disapproving sounds and noises. This in turn is proof enough for Tara that her babies need her not only URGENTLY but also IMMEDIATELY period, no further discussions needed! She then acts on the impulse and even tries to get in the basket with them.
And now you know … the rest of the story … why it takes 2 to 3 people to change the sheets in Taras puppy box: One who actually changes the covers (which is definitely the easiest part of the whole ordeal) and two to keep four eyes on Tara and her puppies.
What a blessing (for all involved), when she can finally have her babies back!

Here they are: All nine of them!

 ...sleeping safe and sound …

… back to …

… and finally baby by baby...

… the most wonderful place in the world at this age (with Tara still counting) !!!
